With more people getting vaccinated and travel ramping up in the US and around the world, Airbnb announced in a press release Thursday that it will not be allowing guests to throw parties at Airbnb rentals through the end of the summer.

The company at the beginning of the pandemic said that Airbnb would be prohibiting parties at rentals indefinitely.

"We will not tolerate behavior that disrupts neighborhoods or violates the trust of our Host community," the company said. Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky added that, "We want to be really good community players all over the world."

To further enforce the party ban, Airbnb is continuing the Neighborhood Support Line which "provides a forum for neighbors to report issues or concerns directly to Airbnb regarding disruptive parties."

The company added that in addition to the support line there will also be "an initiative in the US, Canada, UK, France and Spain that restricts guests under the age of 25 from booking entire home listings in their local area under certain circumstances."

In addition to those restrictions Airbnb will also prohibit guests that don't have a "history of positive reviews'' from making one night reservations for entire homes in the US during the 4th of July weekend as an effort to "promote safe and responsible travel."

Earlier this week Airbnb rolled out a slew of new features on the app as the company prepares for the summer travel season. That includes amily-friendly pricing, flexible dates for rentals, better recommendations for nearby attractions, increased options for unique stays - like castles, adobe homes, and wagons - and more.
